Unlike common tights made from spandex, Zensah Basketball Tights are designed using premium meryl fiber construction for a better fit that's unlike anything available today. The unique seamless knitting technology ensures a precise fit that contours to your thigh and lower leg with every movement. Silver ion impregnated yarns are used to help regulate body temperature, and keep your muscles warm and limber. The silver ions fight odor buildup commonly found with similar tights and help fight against Staph infections which are on the rise in both high school and college athletic environments. What is Staff (MRSA)?
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a specific strain of the Staphylococcus aureus bacterium or STAPH infection. Although outbreaks of MRSA usually have been associated with health-care institutions, MRSA is emerging as a cause of skin infections in high school and college athletics AND IS ON THE RISE. Some of the athletes in the NBA who have had Staph infection include Grant Hill, Paul Pierce, and Drew Gooden. MRSA is usually contracted by a break in the skin. It comes off the skin onto items such as towels, gym equipment, and body contact in sports. Zensah basketball tights contain actual silver threads in carefully controlled ratios to completely kill the MRSA and vMRSA bacteria on contact. Other sports brands do not have silver ions embedded in their fabric. Their moisture wicking apparel is polyester based. Zensah fabric is not polyester based, and uses a proprietary fabric which has silver ions embedded inside to provide the first line of defense against MRSA.
