Aircast SP Walker Brace Walking Boot - low rocker sole promotes more natural ambulation for improved mobility while the generous foot base has ample room for dressings without sacrificing comfort. It provides full-shell pneumatic support and compression for patients with foot & ankle injuries. The SP Walker (short pneumatic) is suited for individuals with a shorter leg length/calf circumference that require a short height walker for acute or post operative immobilization. The lightweight, trimmable, semi-rigid shell has a pre-inflated anterior aircell and two adjustable aircells located at the malleoli that can be individually inflated for "total contact" fit and secure support.
The Aircast SP Walker is used for recovery from mild to moderate ankle sprains, rehabilitation following bunionectomies, forefoot soft tissue injuries, metatarsal fractures and more.
Aircast SP Walker Brace Walking Boot Features:
- Low rocker sole offers enhanced comfort and promotes natural ambulation.
- Wider foot base provides ample room for dressings.
- Improved ergonomic design for ease-of-use and increased compliance.
- Engineered for patient comfort while providing superior injury protection and support.
- Semi-rigid shell has a pre-inflated anterior aircell and two adjustable aircells located at the malleoli (medial and lateral ankle bones) that can be individually inflated using the hand bulb (included) for a "total contact" fit and secure support.
- Because of the walker's adjustability, changes in limb dimension due to swelling can be adjusted for throughout the healing process while still maintaining stability and immobilization per the physician's protocol.
- Improved ergonomic short height design for ease-of-use and increased compliance.
- Aircast Short Pneumatic is available in five sizes to fit every size foot - See sizing chart tab above for measurement & fit help.

Pneumatic boot supports my husband's ankle
My husband is a week out from foot surgery and the doctor wanted him to have this for his recovery. This pneumatic boot provides comfort and support for his ankle foot and ankle.
Boot is extremely comfortable
This boot is extremely comfortable, and I would know, as I have been and will be in a boot for quite awhile. it is so much easier to gain a gentle forward motion with this boot compared to what you can achieve in the typical black one that your podiatrist or foot surgeon gives you from their office. Additionally, my foot surgeon says this style will be better for long-term use, as it causes less wear & tear on my knee & hip joints on that leg. I like having the ability to inflate the insulation with the included tool. It truly enables you to feel more like you are walking on air, which has helped tremendously with comfort on days when I must walk longer distances. If your medical condition is primarily in your foot and/or ankle and your doctor says a shorter boot is adequate, then you may well like the lighter weight this boot provides. Plus, no rubbing or banging on your shin as much as the taller boots!
Saved My Mobility
After I rolled my ankle tripping while going down some stairs, I was on crutches and a kneewalker for a couple weeks before getting the Aircast SP. There were a few times with the kneewalker that I thought I would be going face-first into the ground. The steering system on those is similar to that no longer allowed on children's wagons because - oh, right - it's just too dangerous. Yet we still have it on a mobility device. Occasionally, you have to move around in ways that the kneewalker and crutches don't allow, and these occasional movements were enough to re-injure my ankle twice in the three weeks I was using them. One time, I managed to re-roll the ankle even with the brace my doctor gave me. Another time, I was going down the stairs out of my apartment and hit the heel/ankle just right that, in its weakend, injured state, it bent too far. This was a bad situation, so I purchased the Aircast as soon as I was able to put my full weight on the ankle. Wow! What an amazing, life-changing difference. Thanks to the Aircast, I am able to walk again. I don't have to ask other people to carry stuff around for me while I worry about getting myself around the room without performing a faceplant into the ground because the floor was a bit uneven and catches a wheel or crutch foot. I am able to walk confidently knowing that if I take a bad step, my foot has some protection before I cause further injury to it. Thanks to the air ballasts, I am able to keep compression on my ankle when necessary, and give that joint the support it needs when it needs it. Before the Aircast SP, I was not leaving my apartment any more than I had to. Now, I've been going downtown to resume the work that I do - creating photo, video and written content for the websites I help manage. Sometimes, that can mean a lot of walking. With my Aircast, that's a lot of walking without injuring my foot. After my X-Rays, my doctor told me in no uncertain terms to treat my sprain like a break. However, they were very good with me using an Aircast. I don't know where I would be without mine. I take that back, I do know. I'd still be stuck at home wearing an inferior brace.
good ankle air cast boot
This ankle air cast boot helped get rid of my swelling and helped me walk better after a sprained my ankle three weeks ago. It didn't affect my mobility either.
Doctor approved - good with it.
It's doctor approved so I'm good with it. I prefer the 2 straps on the SP to the 3 straps on the taller versions. That is why I choose this particular boot. Don't always use the air pump that came with it. My hips tend to hurt from walking around in it all day long so I also got the Evenup to go along with it.
One of the better walking boots out there...
Some boots offer only medial and lateral support but this provides support all the way around the ankle which my surgeon wanted me to have.
Air leaked but got it replaced
The air leaked on my first one - had to keep pumping it back up. Called and got a new replacement overnighted without issues. Can't beat this air cast boot cost!
Worked great for me
Worked great for me, not to mention it also turned out to be $200 cheaper than my insurance company wanted me to pay out of my own pocket at the ortho.
Ran too small
Ran too short for my shoe size - toes were hanging off the end. Had to exchange for the next larger size.
walking boot air cast - great price
$480 at the orthopoedist's office for the same medium size boot. Also had it overnighted for less than $50 from DME-Direct. Now I can buy the replacement liner that goes on the inside too. My ortho doc said he can't even get them for this price.
