Good fit, comfortable walking

The air bladders are all easy to inflate on the side at the top of the boot - no air pumps to deal with! The heel also has a softer material that absorbs my step so it's pretty comfortable to walk in.

This is my first time in a boot comfortable and easy to use i sprained my ankle.

I had ankle reconstruction & posterior tibial tendon transplant 3 1/2 months ago. This boot has a small valve with a small spring to release air out of the boot. This piece has fallen out with this cast multiple times. I am on my fourth boot. Going on 5. If I can find the small piece with this tiny spring when it falls out I can put it back in. But most of the time I cannot find the 2 pieces. I truly believe that my non-union of the bone post surgery is because I lose stability in the heel and ankle area since it will not stay inflated. Hopefully, they'll redesign that valve.

much needed

I had the short XP walker before my surgery but my doctor recommended I get the AirSelect (tall one) for post op once I'm off my bandages. My ankle is a lot sturdier with this boot than the short one. It doesn't get hot and the built in air system is convenient as you do not need to carry around the inflate/deflate panel thing. The sole is also not too bulky so my sneaker on the other foot provides enough balance when wearing the boot. I highly recommend this walker for anyone who needs to be in one.

Very snug if any swelling

This boot is well made and generally fairly comfortable, but despite my small bone structure and appropriately sized boot, I am unable to wear it some days due to swelling. The ankle area is VERY narrow, and it fits well when my swelling is minimal, but there is no room for my ankle if I have much swelling at all. The days that I have more swelling, I use the very basic but roomy boot that the doctor gave me, and on the days that I can get this on, I wear the Aircast. The days that I am able to wear it, I like the custom fit of the air channels and the ease of use. I am rehabbing a ligament reconstruction in my ankle. Customers should be aware that this is a tight fit if their injury is producing swelling and may not be the best option.

The only boot to buy.

My husband broke his foot and we purchased a cheaper pneumatic that did not offer the comfort or support. This boot is worth the money. My son broke his foot not long after my husband and we checked with his surgeon to make sure this boot was acceptable and ordered it immediately. My husband especially likes that he can adjust the air pockets separately.

A great boot for serious ankle injuries.

I am waiting for major ankle surgery. I needed a backup boot. This is the one I ordered. It has become my primary boot. It locks my ankle better than the other one and is more comfortable. Highly recommended!

Absolutely a smart purchase

I have 2 broken bones in my foot and a broken ankle. After 9 wks in a cast, my orthopedist put me in a terrible fitting boot. I had such terrible pain from the straps putting pressure where I have a 5th metatarsal Jones fracture. I purchased the Aircast AirSelect Elite from DME-Direct and it makes a world of difference. With the semi rigid shell that covers the top of my foot and front of the leg, the straps don't put uneven pressure on the areas that are painful. Being able to adjust the air cells to provide stability is a cinch and it really helps to comfortably secure my foot in place. The socks that it came with are terrific too. I'm still not allowed to put pressure on my foot, so I can't say how it feels to walk in this boot. I am so glad I purchased this Aircast, and both the ease of placing the order and the speed of delivery made the experience even better.
